The Scarlet Rebellion

LOUD’s first virtual show, The Scarlet Rebellion is a play about queer and trans youth of color who attempt to overthrow an abusive government and build community while learning the challenges of creating a new society that cares for all. The play's immersive visual world promises to include some ethereal beings and visits to the astral plane. The Scarlet Rebellion premiered on June 12, 2020.

Paris is missing

Paris is missing is a play about the ensemble’s exploration of intersections transmisogyny and racism in our city and it’s celebration of the communities that resist it. It centers all Black trans women in Louisiana and it also pays tribute to Chyna Gibson, Ciara McElveen, and Jaquarrius Holland who were three of many black trans women who were brutally murdered in 2017.

The Pursuit of Justice

Opening on May 15, 2015, The Pursuit of Justice focuses on the stories of five young people who all attend the same community Gender and Sexuality Alliance in the days leading up to a fateful event. Their experiences are funny, romantic, enraging and real as they discover what it means to stand in solidarity with each other.

Beyond Acceptance

Beyond Acceptance imagines what would happen if the normal heteronormative world we are all used to collided with the queer world the youth of LOUD want to see.  The results are honest, hard-hitting, and never what you’d expect.  Through personal stories, original music and movement, and a series of unforgettable characters (all created by the youth ensemble), Beyond Acceptance will take you into a world where everyone is free to be their most authentic selves.

Beyond Acceptance debuted at the Dryades Theater in April 2014.  A second edition of the production was performed in August 2014 at the Alternate ROOTS annual gathering in Arden, North Carolina.
